Privacy Policy
What Clarpex does with the photos you upload, how long we keep them, and the little other data we collect to run the service.
Last updated: 2026-10-29
The short version
- Your photos are used only to make your result. We don't sell them, and we don't use them to train AI models.
- If you're not signed in, your photo and its result are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
- If you're signed in, your tasks are listed in History and deleted automatically 72 hours after you create them. You can turn on "Keep my tasks" in History to keep them until you delete them yourself.
- To hand out free daily credits fairly without asking for an account, we store one-way hashes of a few signals from your visit, never the raw values.
Photos you upload
What happens when you process a photo. Your browser first scales the photo down to the size the chosen version accepts. We store that copy, process it with the version you picked, and store the result so you can view and download it.
Who processes it. Processing runs on trusted cloud and AI infrastructure providers that work for us under contract. They receive your photo only to produce the result for that request, and they may not use it for anything else. Files are stored with an encrypted cloud storage provider.
How long we keep it.
- Not signed in: the uploaded copy and the result are kept for 24 hours, then deleted automatically.
- Signed in, default: the uploaded copy and the result are deleted automatically 72 hours after you create the task. Each task in History shows when it will be deleted.
- Signed in, "Keep my tasks" on: your tasks are kept until you delete them or your account is deleted. If you turn the setting off again, your existing tasks are deleted 72 hours later.
When you delete a task in History, its result and uploaded copy are removed from our storage immediately. If you uploaded the same photo for another task that hasn't been deleted, that shared copy stays until the last of those tasks is gone. We keep a small record of the task (tool, version, time and credits charged, without the images) for billing and fraud checks.
Ratings. If you give a result a thumbs up or down, we store that rating with the task to improve our results.
Quality checks. To keep results good and prevent abuse, we may spot-check a small number of processed results. Access is limited to authorized personnel.
What we don't do. We don't sell your photos, share them with advertisers, publish them, or use them to train AI models.
Free daily credits without an account
Everyone gets free credits each day, signed in or not. To keep one person from claiming them many times, a free run is counted against:
- a random visitor ID stored in a cookie (
cpx_vid), - a hash your browser makes from coarse device settings (screen size, color depth, number of processor cores, touch support, operating system and time zone), combined with your network,
- your IP address (for IPv6, only the first half),
- your account, if you're signed in.
Each of these is turned into a one-way hash on our server before it's stored, so the database holds no raw IP addresses or device details, only the hash and how many credits it used that day. We use these hashes only for free credits and abuse prevention.
To stop automated abuse, free runs without an account may also go through an invisible bot check. It looks at signals from your browser for that moment only and doesn't track you across sites.
Your account
If you create an account we store your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google, your profile picture. We use your email to sign you in and to send messages about your account and purchases.
Payments
Payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of each order (plan, amount, date, status) and the credits it added to your balance.
Cookies and local storage
- Sign-in session: keeps you signed in.
cpx_vid: random visitor ID for free daily credits (kept up to 400 days).PARAGLIDE_LOCALE: remembers your language.cookie_consent: remembers your cookie choice, when the banner is shown.- Theme (local storage): remembers light or dark mode.
If analytics is turned on for the site, analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner.
Your choices and rights
- See or download your results: open History in your account.
- Delete a result: delete the task in History, or let it be deleted automatically.
- Delete your account: go to Account settings and choose Delete account (or email us at support@clarpex.ai). We cancel your subscription, delete your History files, credits and personal details, and keep only the payment records the law requires for billing.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as asking for a copy of your data or objecting to some uses of it. Email us and we'll help.
Children
Clarpex isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Where data is processed
Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. We only use providers that encrypt data in transit and are bound by contract to protect it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes we'll also tell signed-in users through the site.
